Dewait is a village in district Azamgarh of Uttar Pradesh, India, situated near the Mehnagar market. It is located 15 km South of Azamgarh, near Varanasi, Jaunpur and Allahabad. Including adjoining areas, the village has a population of from 10.000 to 15.000 people. The village has a post office with PIN code is 276204 and a dispensary run by the state.

Dewait place Saadaat. The name is derived from Shah deyat, an Arabic word that means "blood money". Dewait was given by king Haribans of Mehnagar on "Meer Sarfatah Hussein" worlds Baba - a famous name among the neighbouring villages against the shedding of blood Saadaat.
