1. The plot. (Сюжет)

The creed family - Louis, Rachel and their children Ellie and Gage to move from Chicago to rural Ludlow, Maine, after Louis was offered a job as a doctor at the University of Maine. They befriend their 2-year-old neighbor JUD crandall, who takes them to an isolated pet Cemetery with errors "sematary" in the woods behind the creeds new home.

On his first day at work, Louie meets Victor Pascow, a runner who was mortally wounded after being hit by a truck. He warns Louis about the pet Cemetery, before he dies, calling Louis by name, despite the fact that they had not previously met. That night, Pascow comes to Louis as a Ghost and leads him to a pet cemetery, warning him not to cross the barrier, because the Ground is "sour". Louis wakes up, assuming it was a dream, but notices his feet are covered with mud.

During Thanksgiving while the family is gone, Ellies cat, Church, running along the highway. Realizing that Ellie will be devastated, JUD takes Louis beyond the cemetery and deep into the forest, where they reach Miꞌkmaq ancient burial ground. JUD instructs Louis to bury the cat and warns him not to tell anyone about what they did. The next day, revived the Church returns to the house, a shell of what he was before, he stinks, he moves sluggishly, and vicious towards Louis. Judd explains that in the childhood he revived his beloved dog in Miꞌkmaq the earth and that, although the cat may be different, it will save Ellies grief of losing their pet.

Some time later, gage is killed by a truck on the same track. The family is devastated, and JUD suggests that he thinks Louis buries his son in the ground Miꞌkmaq, although Louis denies it. JUD believes that the introduction of Louis on the ritual ground called monstrous forces that caused the measuring of death. He tells him the story of a local named bill Baterman, who buried his son Timmy in the ground Miꞌkmaq after he was killed in the Second world war. Timmy came back as evil zombies, frightening the townsfolk. A group of men, including JUD tried to destroy Timmy Baterman house lighting on fire, only for bill to die with her son. Judd insists that the burial ground is evil, and Louis should never try to bury his son.

After the funeral, Rachel and Ellie leave for Chicago, and Louis remains at home. Despite Pascow and warnings Juds, Louis retrieves the body of his son and buries him in the ritual knot. In Chicago, Ellie, Pascow appears in a dream and warns her that Louis wants to do something terrible. Rachel is disturbed by her daughters dream, but only able to reach Jad, when she calls, who tells him that Louis isnt home. She decides to return to Maine, a lot of anxiety created by the program.

That night, the sensor will return home and stole a scalpel from his bag fathers. He taunts JUD before slashing his Achilles tendon and his mouth horizontally across lips before biting his throat, killing him. Rachel returns home and is lured into the house of Juds voice and the Ghost of her dead sister Zelda, only to discover that shes actually seeing the gage, holding the scalpel. In shock and disbelief, Rachel reaches out to hug the son, and he kills her.

Waking up from his sleep, Louis notices, instruments muddy footprints in the house and discovers that his scalpel was missing. When you receive a phone call from gage that he "played" with JUD and mom, it fills three syringes with morphine and sent to the house of Juds. Meeting of the Church, he destroys a cat with an injection in front of the house. Gage taunts him further and Louis flinches from Rachels falling corpse hung in the attic, before it attacked his son.

After a brief battle, Louis defeats gage with morphine injections. Then he lights the house on fire leaving him to burn as it carries Rachels body from the fire. Pascow appears and warns Louis to not "worse", but grief, Louis believes that since Rachel died while gage, burying it will "work this time". Pascow screams in frustration and disappears when Louie passes through it.

That night, Rachel comes back to Louie, and a couple of arms. Rachel takes a large knife from the counter, before Louis shouts.

2.1. Production. Development. (Развитие)

The film rights were sold to George A. Romero in 1984 for $10.000. The king had earlier rejected several other proposals for adaptation. Romero eventually had to pull out of the production because he was busy monkey shines. Development Executive Lindsay Doran loved the finished script and acted for her in the Embassy pictures and then in the "paramount pictures", after she became Vice-President of production in 1985. Every time she told me that there is no demand for films Stephen king after a series of adaptations of his novels, released in the early 80-ies.

It was only during the 1988 writers Guild of America Strike that paramount revised because the Studio was faced with a possible shortage of new productions for the release of 1989. Stephen kings screenplay for pet Sematary was ready to go, so Doran was given the green light to get the rights for Paramount and to start production. King, who had the final say on the choice of Director, met with the studios first choice Mary Lambert. She impressed him with his enthusiasm, his books and her desire to stay true to his novel, which provided her a job.

The original cut of the film is delivered to the heads of stay was considered too long, so the extra footage had to be removed. The original ending scenes were more ambiguous: he showed only the undead Rachel, going to the kitchen, where Louis plays solitaire, leaving his fate uncertain. Although Lambert called it "more terrible, sad. tragic" ending because the viewer knows that "it is not what he wants. She did not return, his wife", the Studio decided that was too boring and at their request he re-shot to be more clear. Rachels appearance was much more brutal with a special prosthetic effects, and it kills Louis in the end, as stated in his cries, when the film cuts to black.

2.2. Production. Casting. (Кастинг)

Initially, paramount executives wanted the twins to play the role of a sensor, such as those that have been chosen to play Ellie, which is a more cost effective option. However, Lambert was very impressed with the three-year-old Miko Hughes, whom she felt was a natural talent, despite his young age, she lobbied for the Studio to accept her choice. She also faced resistance leaders for his choice to cast Fred Gwynne, who the Studio believed the audience is not taken seriously because of his fame as Herman Munster. After the first audition girls for the role of Zelda, Lambert changed course and was casting Andrew Hubatsek in the role because she felt that an adult plays the role of teenage girls deformed by spinal meningitis made the character more frightening.

2.3. Production. Shooting. (Съемки)

As provided for king, when selling rights, pet Sematary was shot in Maine, where the plot was king himself wrote the script. The production was based out of Ellsworth and auditions held at the Bolshoi theatre, where several hundred local residents auditioned to be an extra or a small speaking role. The king himself was very involved in the process of filming, consulting frequently with Lambert on her ideas for the plot and any deviations from the script she wanted to do.

The house is used for the creeds, home is located in a private residence near Hancock, while building Juds across the street was actually a facade built around an existing house that was insulated with fireproof material, so that the layout can be burned around him. The interiors of the house of Creed has been recreated in the arena in Ellsworth, while the interiors of the house Juds was built in the Arsenal of Bangor. Approach to Miꞌkmaq the burial ground was filmed in an abandoned granite quarry on the island of mount desert in Acadia national Park, while on top of a hill close Sedgwick was the site Miꞌkmaq earth. Other places included the forest near Ellsworth at the pet cemetery, the cemetery of mount hope in Bangor in the cemetery scene, and the Ellsworth town Hall, which stood at the hospital of the University of Maine, Orono.

3. Music. (Музыка)

The films score was written by Elliot Goldenthal. In the film, two songs of the Ramones, one of Stephen Kings favorite bands: "Sheena is a punk rocker" appears in the frame, and "pet Sematary", a new track written especially for the movie, plays over the credits.

The song "pet Sematary" became one of the Ramones biggest charting hits, reaching number four on the Billboard "modern rock tracks" list, despite the fact that, according to AMG: "I condemn most of the bands hardcore fans".

She was more known for her work of music video Director, especially for Madonna, including "like a prayer" and "material girl." Through his work in the music industry Lambert became friends with the Ramones, who were one of the kings favorite bands. She approached him about recording a song for a movie and they decided to write and perform "the Cemetery of Pets" mentioned in the final credits.
