Gyorgy Mogoi is a former Hungarian footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s.he played mainly as a defender, but also as a midfielder.
Mogoy was born in Igala, Hungary. He spent three seasons for Czechoslovak club SK Slovan Bratislava and one season each for Italian club Catania and Spanish club RCD Mallorca before moving to Switzerland. Here, for the first time, he played one season for the Zurich club "grasshopper".
Mogoi joined FC Basels first team in the 1952-53 season under player-coach Rene Bader. After playing in five test matches, Mogoi made his debut in the national League for his new club in an away match on 31 August 1952, when Basel drew 2-2 with BSK young boys. He scored his first goal for the club from the penalty spot on April 19, 1953, in a home match at the Landhof stadium against Lausanne-Sport. The biggest success of magaisa this season became the title. Basle won 17 of their 26 League matches, losing only once, and they won the League by four points, finishing ahead of young boys in second position.
Between 1952 and 1956, Mogoi made a total of 113 appearances for Basel, scoring a total of six goals. 65 of them took place in the National a-League, eight-in the Swiss Cup and 40-in friendly matches. He has scored all of his six goals in the domestic League.
After his time at FC Basel, Mogoi moved to play for Nordstern Basel and ended his active football career after two seasons with Them.
