Cinema of Serbia comprises the art of film and creative movies made in Serbia and Serbian filmmakers abroad.

Serbia as an independent state and as part of Yugoslavia, was home to many world-renowned films and Directors, and is the most successful Balkan state from the point of view of filmmaking. Most famous movies from the Balkans, mainly from Serbia, and acquired a great level of commercial success.

Serbia has a well-established theatrical tradition with many theatres. Serbian national theatre was established in 1861 the building was built in 1868.
